Discovery Astronauts Undertake Spacewalk

The space shuttle Discovery lifts off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Two astronauts from the space shuttle Discovery left the International Space Station today for the first spacewalk of their 11-day mission.

During the planned nearly seven-hour spacewalk, Steve Bowen and Alvin Drew are to move a failed ammonia cooling pump and install a power extension cable and camera equipment.

The Discovery is on its final mission before retirement to deliver an extra room, along with supplies and equipment, to the space station.
