5 Tajiks Receive Lengthy Prison Terms In Russia On Terrorism Charges

Media reports in Russia said on July 9 that a court in the Urals city of Yekaterinburg sentenced five Tajik men to lengthy prison terms on terrorism charges. The reports said Abubakr Sangcharov, who holds Russian citizenship, and Saginmurod Musofirov were found guilty of the creation of a terrorist group and received 25 and 24 years in prison, respectively, while Anvarsho Avezov, Nurali Dustov, and Shahromjon Musofirov were convicted of taking part in a terrorist group's activities and sentenced to prison terms between 16 and 18 years.
