Taliban Splinter Group Says It's Targeting Pakistan, India

A Taliban splinter group behind a devastating suicide bombing on the border of Pakistan and India has said the attack was aimed at India as much as Pakistan, suggesting that Indian targets might be next.

At least 57 Pakistanis were killed during a popular flag-lowering ceremony on November 2 when a bomber tried to get as close as possible to the border and cause casualties in India as well.

A tweet purportedly issued by Ehsanullah Ehsan, a spokesman for the Pakistani Taliban splinter group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Jamaat Ahrar (TTP-JA), said the militants are determined to attack both India and Pakistan.

TTP-JA broke away from Pakistan’s mainstream Taliban movement in September after announcing its support for Islamic State militants.
