Ten people have been killed and seven injured in southeastern eastern Romania after a truck collided with a minibus.
Romanian Secretary of State for the Interior Raed Arafat said four of the injured survivors were hospitalized in serious condition.
Romania has the highest level of deadly road accidents in the European Union.
The accident at about 5 a.m. local time on October 5 occurred near the village of Balaciu in the Ialomita region, on the road linking the towns of Slobozia and Urziceni -- a stretch of the DN2A highway that has recently been repaved.
It was one of the deadliest road accidents ever in Romania, a country where the poor state of many roads is a concern.
