Monitors from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) say that incumbent Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) "enjoyed notable advantage" in the campaign for the June 24 elections. The OSCE's short-term observation mission head, Spanish lawmaker Ignacio Sanchez Amor, summarized preliminary findings at a June 25 news conference in Ankara.
