Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused Israel of deliberately killing Palestinians and warned Israelis they would “drown in the blood they shed.”
Erdogan was addressing tens of thousands of supporters at a campaign rally in Istanbul on August 3, with seven days to go until the first round of the country's presidential election.
Erdogan said: "Just like Hitler, who sought to establish a race free of all faults, Israel is chasing after the same target."
The presidential candidate also criticized international media for ignoring the death of journalists during Israel's military offensive in the Gaza Strip and an assault on the building housing Anadolu Agency's Gaza office.
Protesters in mostly Sunni Muslim Turkey have repeatedly taken to the streets in recent weeks to demonstrate against the Israeli operation.
