Pakistani officials said on March 27 that seven officers were killed in two separate Taliban attacks targeting police.
Two policemen were killed and 14 others wounded in a bomb blast in the southern port city of Karachi early on March 27, local officials said.
The bomb attached to a motorcycle exploded as a bus carrying police officers to a training academy was passing, they said.
The attack in Karachi came hours after five policemen were killed and one wounded when their van came under fire in the southwestern province of Balochistan.
The provincial interior affairs department said the attack occurred late on March 26 in the Cha Chailo area of Loralai district.
The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for both attacks. The militant group, known as the Pakistani Taliban, often targets police and other security forces.
