Ukrainian pilots have begun training to fly advanced F-16 fighter jets in the U.S. state of Arizona, the U.S. Air Force announced on October 25. A “small number” of Ukrainians have begun the training, which “is expected to last several months,” an Air Force spokesman said. Last month it was reported that Ukrainian pilots had begun English-language training in the state of Texas. The pilots are expected to being flying F-16s in combat sometime in 2024.
