Russian authorities on September 10 reported multiple attempts to sabotage voting in local elections taking place in occupied areas of Ukraine. Russia is holding elections in 79 regions this weekend to chose governors, regional legislatures, and city councils. It is also holding them in four Ukrainian regions that Moscow claimed last year to have annexed even though it doesn't even fully control them. Kyiv and the West have called the elections in the four regions a "sham." Russia's elections are tightly controlled and neither free nor fair.
