Hundreds of Russians are fighting on the side of Ukraine in the battle for Bakhmut, The New York Times reported. Ukraine in August approved the formation of the Free Russia Legion, which is made up of Russian citizens. Some of the members had already been living in Ukraine prior to Russia's invasion, while others came to Ukraine following the start of the year out of moral conviction or disgust with Russia's regime.
