Ukrainian authorities have arrested four alleged associates of a man who blew himself up at a Ukrainian-Russian border checkpoint last month.
The four suspects, including one man from Kabardino-Balkaria, were arrested in various locations across Ukraine. Investigators say they are suspected of organizing the bomber's trip.
Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) announced on November 13 that the man, who tried to cross the border at the Bachivsk checkpoint using a false passport, was from Russia's volatile North Caucasus Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria. His name was not released.
The man detonated a bomb at the checkpoint, killing himself and injuring at least two Ukrainian border guards. SBU officials said the man had been wanted by Russian investigators since 2010 for his alleged involvement in the activities of an illegally armed group.
