The U.S. Army has released a statement saying Private Bradley Manning will face a court martial for allegedly giving more than 700,000 U.S. secret and classified documents and videos to the whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks.
The statement said Military District of Washington Commanding General Michael Linnington referred all charges to a general court martial.
Manning faces 22 counts, including aiding the enemy.
Manning could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted of that charge.
