Gulnara Karimova, the daughter of Uzbek President Islam Karimov, says her Terra Group media holding company is being investigated for bribe-taking.
Karimova wrote on Twitter on November 6 that many of Uzbekistan's popular entertainers have been forced to testify to the Prosecutor's Office that they paid bribes to Terra Group officials.
In recent days, several Karimova-controlled media outlets have been taken off the air and the Terra Group's bank accounts frozen. Karimova also denied reports that a close associate, Nurmukhammad Sodiqov, has long been missing, saying he is at home.
Earlier this week, Karimova -- once considered a likely successor to her father -- wrote that her former security officers had been arrested by security officials.
Last weekend, Karimova accused the chief of the country's National Security Service, Rustam Inoyatov, of blocking her path to the presidency.
