10 June 2004 -- Iraqi interim Prime Minister Iyad Allawi today said the country has lost more than $200 million in the last seven months because of attacks on oil pipelines.
Allawi said there have been some 130 attacks on the country's oil infrastructure. He blamed the acts of sabotage on foreign fighters and said the loss of revenues has been "stolen out of the pockets of a sovereign Iraqi government."
In the latest incident, a bomb yesterday destroyed a section of Iraq's main export pipeline from the city of Kirkuk.
