21 June 2004 -- Iran has reportedly seized three British naval vessels and detained eight crew members.
Iran's state-run television today said the boats were confiscated after entering Iranian territorial waters. The report said eight crew were detained.
The incident apparently took place in the Shatt Al-Arab stretch of water between Iran and Iraq.
The British Ministry of Defense said it was investigating the report.
