27 September 2004 -- The Serbian and Bosnian Serb presidents today pledged to step up efforts to arrest war crimes fugitives.
Speaking in Belgrade after talks with Bosnian Serb President Dragan Cavic, Serbian President Boris Tadic said both leaders realize the importance of extraditing war crimes suspects to the UN war crimes tribunal at The Hague.
Tadic also said that security has been stepped up in both Serbia and Bosnia to capture such fugitives.
Bosnian Serb wartime leader Radovan Karadzic and his top general, Ratko Mladic, are both wanted by the UN court.
Karadzic is believed to be hiding in Bosnia while Mladic is believed to be hiding in Serbia.
