Five U.S. Marines Killed In Western Iraq

U.S. Marines (file photo) 16 June 2005 -- Five U.S. Marines have died from wounds sustained in a roadside bomb blast in western Iraq.
The U.S. military said the soldiers died yesterday after their vehicle struck a bomb near the town of Ramadi, some 115 kilometers west of Baghdad.

More than 40 people were killed in attacks in Iraq yesterday.

At least 23 people were killed when a suicide bomber in an Iraqi Army uniform entered an army canteen in Khalis, north
of Baghdad, and blew himself up.

Some 13 others died in attacks in and around Baghdad, while a mortar attack killed seven Iraqis in the northern town of Tal Afar.
