15 July 2005 (RFE/RL) -- Employees evacuated the premises of Serbian independent radio-television broadcaster B92 early today because of a bomb threat.
Reports say police conducted a search of the building in Belgrade, but no explosive was reported found.
Editor in Chief Veran Matic is quoted saying the broadcaster has been under constant pressure and threats because of its editorial policy, but that the bomb threat was the most radical threat so far.
B92 earned a reputation for independent reporting during the Balkan wars of the 1990s and for its coverage of war crimes and human rights issues. It was shut down several times by authorities during the regime of former Serb leader Slobodan Milosevic.
