Iranian President Warns Enemies

22 September 2005 (RFE/RL) -- Iran's hard-line President Mahmud Ahmadinejad says his country wants peace -- but has warned potential aggressors that the Islamic state will vigorously repel any attack.
Ahmadinejad was speaking at a military parade marking the 25th anniversary of the start of the Iran-Iraq war.

He said Iran's enemies had learned a lesson from the eight-year war, during which Iran and Iraq fought each other to a standstill and hundreds of thousands were killed.
