13 November 2005 -- Serbia's President Boris Tadic is due to arrive in Moscow today to open a three-day working visit.
Tadic is scheduled to meet with the Russian leadership to discuss the future of Kosovo province, as well as relations between Serbia and Montenegro in the Serbia-Montenegro state union. Ways to expand economic cooperation between Russia and Serbia are also expected to be discussed.
Tadic is also expected to meet with Russian Orthodox Patriarch Aleksii II.
Russia, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, last month backed the start of internationally mediated negotiations on the future status of Kosovo, which has been under UN administration since the end of the 1999 NATO air war. Kosovo formally remains a Serbian province and Belgrade has ruled out demands for independence by majority ethnic Albanians.
