2 December 2005 - The organization in charge of removing senior members of Saddam Hussein's Ba'ath Party from government posts is scrutinizing election candidates.
The panel says it has sent the Iraqi elections committee nearly 90 names of people it wants to be banned from running in the 15 December elections.
The Supreme National Commission for de-Ba'athification says it has already sent three separate lists of names of candidates planning to run the parliamentary ballot.
Officials say that people who will not be allowed to run are senior Ba'athist officials, any person who does not have at least a high-school diploma, former members of deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein's intelligence agencies, and anyone under 30 years old.
