Georgian Presidential Aide Arrested For Spying

Simon Kiladze being arrested on March 28 (InterPressNews) March 28, 2008 -- Georgia's Interior Minister says an aide to President Mikheil Saakashvili was detained today on allegations of spying.
Simon Kiladze was accused of giving information on the president, government, and parliament to the intelligence service of a foreign country. He worked as an adviser in the president's press service.

Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili declined to name the country for which Kiladze was allegedly spying. He said Kiladze had received at least $20,000 for information allegedly provided to the foreign intelligence service since 2004.
