April 24, 2006 -- Two Swedes detained in Iran for photographing military installations have been tried for espionage.
The ISNA news agency says the pair are accused of taking pictures of military sites on the southern island of Qeshm.
The trial was held on April 22 in a Revolutionary Court, which deals with national-security offenses. It is unclear when a verdict will be issued. Spying is punishable by death in Iran.
