Top Iraqi Tennis Coach, Players Killed

(RFE/RL) May 26, 2006 -- The coach of Iraq's national tennis team and two players have been shot dead in Baghdad.

Amir Jabbar, head of the Iraqi Olympic Committee, said the three were killed on May 25.

Witnesses say they believe the men were killed because they were wearing shorts. A Sunni militant group recently issued a warning forbidding shorts.
