Three New Kyrgyz Ministers Approved

Medetbek Kerimkulov, the new minister for industry, trade, and tourism (file photo) (RFE/RL) BISHKEK, June 26, 2006 (RFE/RL) -- Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiev won parliament's approval for three of his nominees for vacant posts in the cabinet, RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service reported.

Daniyar Usenov will serve as first deputy prime minister, Medetbek Kerimkulov as the minister responsible for industry, trade and tourism, and the post of minister of agriculture and water will be filled by Azimbek Isabekov.


However, the Kyrgyz parliament voted against the nomination of Ishengul Boljurovato to serve as deputy prime minister in charge of social affairs.
