Moscow Plans Image Makeover

The Kremlin (ITAR-TASS) July 19, 2006 -- Moscow city authorities plan to spend $27 million by 2009 to polish up the city's image and make the Russian capital more welcoming to tourists.

The plan, which was reportedly approved on July 18, envisages hosting parties for foreign diplomats and sending officials on trips abroad to promote the city.

The city authorities are hoping for a payback in the form of increased investment.
