Russia Restricts U.S., Dutch Poultry Imports

In the past year, there have been cases of bird flu in a number of parts of European Russia and the North Caucasus (AFP) August 21, 2006 -- Russia has imposed temporary restrictions on the import of poultry and poultry products from the Netherlands and from the U.S. state of Michigan.

An official from Russia's federal veterinary service said today that the measure is a response to cases of bird flu in the two areas.
