Hussein Genocide Trial Resumes

August 22, 2006 -- Ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein's trial on genocide charges resumed today behind closed doors.

A report says the Iraqi High Tribunal in Baghdad will begin a normal open session later today.

Hussein and six senior aides have been charged with offences related to the 1988 Anfal campaign against Iraq's Kurdish minority, which prosecutors say led to the deaths of 182,000 civilians.
