If lawmakers fail to vote on the new cabinet by midnight tonight, the constitution stipulates there must be new elections.

After nearly four months of negotiations following inconclusive January elections, three moderate parties agreed on May 11 to form a coalition.

Ultranationalists in parliament have been stalling the approval of the new cabinet in the hope of breaking the deadline.
