Al-Qaeda No. 2 Urges Strikes On Western Interests

Ayman al-Zawahiri (undated file photo) (epa) July 5, 2007 -- A new video has been released in which Al-Qaeda second-in-command, Ayman al-Zawahiri, calls for attacks on Western interests, as well as for regime change in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

The 95-minute video, posted on July 4 on an Islamic militant website, contains no reference to last week's failed car-bomb plots in London and Glasgow.

The Egyptian-born al-Zawahiri is Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant in Al-Qaeda and appears frequently in video and audio tapes issued by the terrorist network.
