Belarusian Opposition Rally

Belarusian opposition groups demonstrated in central Minsk today ahead of the presidential election on December 19. Speakers led the crowd in chanting "Yes to Belarus - No to Lukashenka!" At least seven candidates are running against President Alyaksandr Lukashenko; the leading contender appears to be Uladzimer Nyaklyayeu, a poet and the head of the Govori Pravdu (Tell the Truth) movement.
