Protests and street fires continued overnight and into the morning near the U.S. Embassy in Cairo some 24 hours after protesters stormed the compound and burned the U.S. flag. Police used tear gas to try to disperse stone-throwing protesters. The unrest erupted on September 11, apparently as an angry response to a low-budget U.S.-made film that depicts the Prophet Muhammad in a negative light. (Reuters)
