Putin Dismisses Defense Minister

Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov and announced that Moscow region Governor Sergei Shoigu will take over the post. The move comes two weeks after a criminal probe was opened into alleged corruption in military procurement deals at a company formerly led by Serdyukov. (Reuters)
