Thousands of North Koreans today took part in an official memorial rally in Pyongyang to mark the first anniversary of former leader Kim Jong Il's death. Led by current leader Kim Jong Un, attendees observed a moment of silence at noon in front of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, where the bodies of the country's former leaders permanently lie in state.
