Inside The Temelin Nuclear Power Plant

With 2,000 megawatts of installed electricity, the Temelin nuclear plant is the largest power resource in the Czech Republic. Much to the consternation of some environmentalists, the plant's state-owned operator now plans to extend its capacity by building two new reactors. The tendering process for the development also has a geopolitical dimension, as it has sparked a bidding war between two major conglomerates: one Russian and one American.
