Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has warned Turkey that it will suffer for supporting rebels fighting to overthrow his government.
Assad, in an interview broadcast on October 4 on Turkey's Halk TV, said "in the near future these terrorists will have an impact on Turkey and Turkey will pay very dearly for its contribution."
Turkey has been a staunch supporter of the Syrian rebellion.
In the interview, Assad accused Ankara of supporting Al-Qaeda-linked groups fighting alongside rebel forces in Syria-- a charge Ankara denies.
The Syrian president also said rebels were using Turkish territory as a springboard to launch attacks against his regime.
Ankara has said it is not able to prevent the infiltration of militants from neighboring Syria into its territory, despite tight security measures along the border.
