Bishkek Schools Closed For Flu Quarantine

BISHKEK -- Officials in the Kyrgyz capital have introduced a quarantine in all Bishkek schools until November 30 due to a flu epidemic, RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service reports.

The Bishkek City Council's press service said that some 30 percent of schoolchildren and about 20 percent of teachers are reportedly sick with the flu.

Additionally, there have been about 50 cases of swine flu registered.
