Canadian Air Commander Pleads Guilty To Murders, Sexual Crimes

A decorated former commander of Canada's largest military base has pleaded guilty to the murders of two women and scores of sex crimes over a two-year span.

Media have given intense coverage to the case, in an Ontario courtroom, in which Colonel Russell Williams admitted to a string of killings, sexual assaults, and burglaries that included the theft of women's undergarments.

Williams, who once piloted the jet used by Canada's prime minister and Britain's royal family in Canada, was arrested in February in connection with a slaying near his Trenton, Ontario, base.

The list of crimes was so extensive that the reading out of the details was expected to last into October 20, when Williams is expected to be sentenced.
