China Condemns Korean Ship Sinking

A South Korean soldier keeps watch over North Korea from a guard post just south of the demilitarized zone between the two Koreas on May 25.

Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao says his country will not protect anyone found responsible for the March 26 sinking of a South Korean naval ship.

Speaking to South Korean President Lee Myung-bak today during a visit to Seoul, Wen condemned all acts that threaten peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

Antagonism between North and South Korea has escalated after South Korea accused the North of torpedoing its warship, the "Cheonan," killing 46 sailors.

International investigators concluded that a North Korean torpedo sunk the craft.

Pyongyang has denied sinking the ship.
