Croatian police today said they have arrested a second fugitive convicted over the 2003 assassination of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic.
Croatian police spokesman Krunoslav Borovec today said that Milos Simovic was apprehended while attempting to cross the Croatian-Serbian border.
In 2007, Serbia sentenced Simovic and another man, Sretko Kalinic, in absentia to 30 years in jail for conspiring to kill Djindjic. Both men had been on the run until now.
Kalinic, born in Croatia, was hospitalized in Zagreb on June 9 with gunshot wounds. Simovic is suspected of shooting Kalinic.
