Midday Turnout Report

By about 1 p.m. local time, Moldovan officials were reporting that turnout in today's election was about 30 percent, according to state news agency Moldpres. That compares to 25.42 percent at the same point in the voting on April 5.

Under the newly revised election law, the vote is considered valid if one-third of the electorate casts ballots. Polls close at 9 p.m. local time.
