After wrapping up a two-day visit to France, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari heads to Britain today, where his spokesman said he will address British Prime Minister David Cameron's criticism of Islamabad's stance on terrorism.
The spokesman, Farhatullah Babar, said that "Cameron's uncalled-for remarks and the fact that these were made in India had disappointed the people of Pakistan."
Relations between London and Islamabad soured last week when Cameron said Pakistan must not "look both ways" in secretly promoting violent extremism while pretending to seek regional stability.
At the weekend, a Pakistani intelligence chief cancelled a U.K. trip, and Zardari has been under pressure to cancel a visit to Britain.
Zardari's office rejected this idea, arguing that the trip gives Pakistan a chance to make its case.
