'People Are In A Great State Of Chaos'

Iran has severely restricted the ability of foreign media to report from Tehran, necessitating a greater reliance on the reports of citizen journalists and impassioned listeners. While every effort has been made to do so, RFE/RL cannot vouch for the accuracy or authenticity of user-generated content, which appears below in orange type.

E-mails and voicemails sent to RFE/RL's Radio Farda on June 23:

The committee for vote protection for Mir Hossein Musavi:
The most peaceful gathering is going to be held Wednesday, June 24, 3rd Tir, in front of the parliament building in Tehran with the presence of Zahra Rahnavard and the families of all the campaign members. Mir Hossein Musavi is going to deliver a speech at 5 p.m. It is requested that you attend the event along with your families.

People are in a great state of chaos here and are suffering too much. They claim to see such civil forces that they are unaware of, sitting in the yards. These are the very same forces that threaten people by their baton hits and drum beatings.

**

The situation in Kermanshah is quite strange. The civil police and the special forces have been gathering between Firdousi Square and Dabir Alam Square since about 6 p.m. Right now, the situation is very ambiguous.

**

Mr. Khamenei: Since you consider yourself the leader of the Islamic nation of the world, consult your subconscious and your religion if you possess those. How can you be answerable to your god with the burden of the blood of innocent Neda on your shoulders?

**

We will defend our country, our leader, and our popular president Mr. Ahmadinejad, until the last drop of our blood. I am from Baluchistan.

**

I am from Tehran
I wanted to tell the leader I will not stop going out to protest, even though I have a little baby and another son who need me to be at home. I will not give up.

**

I voted for Ahmadinejad, but after this reaction from the government I am regretting that now. These incidents have changed my mind about Ahmadinejad.

**

I wanted to say to Ahmadinejad and Khamenei: is it Islam and democracy which you talk about? You kill the people in the street, is this Islam? Is this democracy? The blood of Neda will not be trampled.

**

Khaled from Ahvaz: I wanted to express my deep sympathy to the families of the martyrs, who lost their members in the recent incidents, and I wanted to say that we will stay alongside them until victory.

**

These five days for examining the election results by the Guardians Council is nothing, but they are going to cool down the situation. After that, nothing will change.

I used to support Ahmadinejad because he showed that he was challenging the foreigners, but now I see he is challenging his own people. This man has problems with those outside of Iran as well as those inside Iran.
