Roadside Bombs Kill Six Afghan Policemen, One U.S. Soldier In South

A roadside bombing has killed six Afghan policemen in the country's south.

A police chief in Kandahar Province's Khakrez district, Abdul Qayum Khan, said four others were injured in the blast.

He said the policemen were on their way to Kandahar city when the bombing occurred.

No one claimed responsibility for the attack, but Taliban insurgents are active in the area.

Also today, NATO said a U.S. soldier was killed by a bomb blast in southern Afghanistan. The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force did not give further details.
