Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir has traveled to neighboring Chad, despite an arrest warrant issued for him by the International Criminal Court (ICC) on charges of genocide and war crimes.
It is the first time Bashir has traveled to a country that is a member of the ICC since he was indicted in connection with violence in Sudan's Darfur region in 2009.
Chadian officials have said Chad will not arrest Bashir.
Chad is a member state to the Rome Statute that created the ICC in 1998. The ICC has had no comment so far.
Bashir was attending a regional conference in the Chadian capital, N'djamena.
The United Nations estimates the conflict in Sudan's western region of Darfur has cost the lives of some 300,000 people and displaced another 2.7 million.
