Kyrgyzstan's Kirov water reserve

BISHKEK -- Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry sources have informed RFE/RL that representatives from the Kyrgyz and Tajik Foreign Ministries will meet in Bishkek on April 7.

The two sides are to discuss the agenda of upcoming talks between the Tajik and Kyrgyz foreign ministers expected to take place in Dushanbe later this month.

The major topic on the agenda will be bilateral cooperation in water and energy, as well as cooperation on transportation issues.

Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are wealthy in water resources but largely dependent on their Central Asian neighbors for energy supplies.
