Volcano Erupts On Indonesia's Sumatra After 400 Years

A volcano has erupted on the Indonesia island of Sumatra for the first time in four centuries.

Smoke was sent 1,500 meters into the air and thousands of residents have been evacuated.

There have been no reports of casualties so far and aviation in the area is unaffected.

Mount Sinabung in the north of Sumatra began erupting around midnight after rumbling for several days.
