Two suicide attacks in Kabul -- one targeting a play staged at a French-financed school -- killed at least nine people on December 11 in the latest wave of violence there as most NATO troops forces pull out of Afghanistan.

Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqqi said a suicide bomber blew himself up in the audience of the play at Istiqlal High School -- which is attached to Kabul’s long-established French cultural center.

Afghan police say the teenage bomber killed at least one German citizen and injured seven people.

French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said the attack killed several people, but none of the dead were French citizens.

Earlier on December 11, a suicide bomber targeted a bus carrying Afghan troops in Tangi Tarakhil on the outskirts of Kabul.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed that the Taliban was responsible for that attack, which killed six soldiers in the Afghan National Army and injured 10 people -- including civilians.
