Afghan Bomb Kills Nine

An Afghan official has said that a bomb detonated by remote control in southern Afghanistan has killed seven Afghan policemen, a foreign soldier and their interpreter.

Arghandab District Governor Shah Mohammad Ahamdi said the bomb struck a patrol of Afghan police and the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) on the night of March 24 in Kandahar province.

An ISAF spokesman confirmed the incident in the Arghandab district but gave no details.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
