Several Arrested Over Attack That Killed Six NATO Troops In Afghanistan

NATO said today its forces have arrested several people suspected of involvement in an attack that killed six coalition soldiers on December 12.

Two Afghan soldiers were also killed when a minibus packed with explosives blew up at the entrance of a joint NATO-Afghan base in southern Kandahar Province.

The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack in Zhari district, where Mullah Mohammad Omar organized the Taliban in the early 1990s.

The attack came days ahead of a White House review of its Afghan strategy, which is expected to be released later this week.
